Japan - Status: Complete

I guess people who arent my friends in real life wouldnt know that i am back from japan already! Day 34 was my last day in japan and i flew out that night!

Uneventful flight, though there was a delay to leave while they decided on a new route that wouldnt end in a fiery volcano.

I hope you all enjoyed my updates and maybe ill go somewhere else again soon.

Until then, i will return to my regular posts of warmachine painting and whatever else i happen to find on the net.

Japan - Day 34: Cafe Connoisseur

Awwww hell naw! Last day in japan, time to quicky do some stuff. I know there were things i said id do that i then didnt… but it all goes to show i am a liar at the best of times.

Maid Cafe!

Now I couldnt NOT do this! Given my own experience as a maid i had to see how the pros did it, and akihabara is probably one of the better places to go! Jay and I went to @home cafe, which have 2 locations and a total of 4 floors in akiba.

Now, i dont have photos really since they dont allow you to take any… even of the food. So you will have to make do with my short retelling.

Enter - luckily the first maid we meet has enough english to get us through the day, for this i am already 8 grateful. We are taken to our table and she explains the different sets, we both went for the meal + drink + photo pack. i would have went for the full pack but i had spent a little too much on toys and still needed to spend more later!

First drinks arrived! I got hot cocoa! First we had to power it up with cute and love and stuff. This involves making an intricate symbol with both hands and saying moe moe kyun~! as soon as the maid and i had said it at the same time, my drink took on a strange aura, so i knew it was good to go!

it tastes like melted chocolate icecream that had subsequently been heated up!

next was meal time, which was omurice… as though id get anything different. My maid drew a rabbit on the omelette and love hearts on the chicken nuggets! then it was powered up in the same way as before.

After all this it was picture time, and i was given a pair of cat ears to make myself as beautiful as possible. I took a picture of the picture though. fuck da koban.

I blanked out my face in case she was underage. Gots to be prepared for anything when living in middle age austria.

I also got my membership card!

After that i went to a neko cafe! it is a cafe where you can also pet cats… I was super hyped to go there, but then i was disappointed. there were about 15 cats, only one was walking around and being playful.

This is their roster of cats. There were none in fancy hats or outfits when i went though so im kind of suspicious about whether the cats ever dress up for customers.

Overall, id say it would be great fun if the cats were all hyper and pouring out of random pipes and boxes like a waterfall, but it never happened. Id nearly be better off sitting in the middle of redfern with a bowl of cat food and making 100 instant friends out of stray cats.

Japan - Day 33: Luck optimiser enabled

Now, ive never considered myself an unlucky person. When i roll a dice, all the sides tend to somehow be 6’s, yet i was still impressed with what i obtained today while trying to get rid of all my yen monies.

Ok, this is a crap picture, but just hold out a second. I bought 8 of these steins;gate phone thingies, and there are 10 designs, 9 common and 1 rare (which is shown as a ? on the list of things you can get… this is common in the random item in a box industry) So here is what i got from 8 boxes

YEAAAAAH! this is the one i wanted the most, and now i have 2!

Critical Mission Error

My aim was to go to Pasela in akihabara and try their idolm@ster meals so as to get the coaster for shinn. It seems like both locations in akiba are for karaoke where you can also get a meal. Is it possible to just get the meal and not do karaoke? Is there one in another location that allows this?

Japan - Day 32: Oh Desire!

I said i was going to go to the umineko mansion right?! I actually did. so there.

Overall this was one of my cheapest expeditions. 150 there, 150 to get in, 150 to get back!

For those of you who arent pimps, todays expedition was to Kyu-Furukawa Gardens, which to the average japanese person is just a western themed garden and a mansion. In reality it is the Ushiromiya’s island mansion on Rokkenjima, as shown in umineko no naku koro ni (lit trans: Witches are cool)

Of all the days for the stupid gardeners to turn up and leave their shit lying around… god damn.

Japan - Day 31: Tokyo once more

There are still things i hadnt done, so i couldnt stay at the snow and laze about! In the next few days expect the following:

• Umineko Mansion
• Evangelion Museum
• Maid Cafe
• Capsule Hotel

Thats a lot to pack into 3 days, but im pro like that. Today was just travelling and then a quick visit to akihabara again, where i made 2 of my best purchases

Strange Nintendo Product

Ok, so every day while at mount zao, we would go to family mart to get snacks. I would also look at the toys, and there was one small strange box which had the nintendo logo on it! I had no idea what it actually was though, and despite its cost i finally bought it! So here is my first unboxing.

Some sort of weird yugioh card game!!!??? there are rules but i cant read them, you seem to have your own hand of cards, as does your opponent, and in the centre are lots of other cards, who im sure are battling! 

So yeah, this was pretty cool!

Japan - Day 25~30: Snow World

Music to set the mood.

Ok, im just going to post everything from my time in the snow since its better than having like 6 posts with only 3 things each!

We were staying at Mount Zao, which for you filthy weeaboos out there, is host to the five color pond from love hina (though i never took a picture)

The hotel we stayed at had hotsprings, and so, we had our hotspring episode! Again, i have no photos, but leave it up to your imaginations and blood filled noses. It was just like in my little girl cartoons; we were separated by gender, but that was not enough to stop the power of desire. Piles of sweaty of japanese men piled on one another so as to peer over the wall into the lands of estrogen. The first to reach the top of the wall slowly peered over, only to have his glasses fog up and and high pressure torrent of blood shoot out of his face, causing the meat pile to collapse in a giant cloud.

Also, the hot springs can be HOT, like burn burn hot!

This was the road i walked up multiple times each day so as to strengthen my weakened knees. It was a nice walk and sometimes would snow, which was also nice!

Dinner at our hotel was the BEST it was banquet tier! Each night was something different, and always always always tasty! Breakfast was buffet but also had variety, including desserts!!!!! desserts at breakfast always makes people happy.

That is where we were skiing! 

On the final day of skiing, i decided to get a toboggan instead: this was the best decision ever. You can go super fast, and when you crash to stop, it doesnt hurt as much! though i still got massive bruises on the backs of my shins :/

Japan - Day 24: 220 sanics per hour

Ok, so, first day on hoth, time to get skis and see if i can outrun that yeti.

Whats really strange about those two pictures, is that i hadnt planned to do a contrast, and also, they were consecutive photos! so i hadnt taken any others alllllll day!

So… Skiing… I’ve never done it before, ill admit that. I am also not very good at learning to do it as i soon found out! There are 3 basic maneuvers in skiing: turning, stopping and gotta go fasting. I managed to get one perfected, and another i managed in my own special way.

It starts off all peaceful, going kinda horizontal across the snow, things arent too bad… 4 years olds are zooming past, but thats ok, they were learners once too (probably only hours prior though)

Reaching the edge of the slope, ok homey, time to slow down, youve got to turn around and go back the other way! No problem!

turning…. turning… turning.. okok, currently am facing straight down the slope…. instinct kicks in… GOTTA GO FAST! There is no more turning, only the human shaped engine of destruction that is me going down the slopes. I observe blueshift, i know i have broken at least 3 sound barriers, goodbye yeti! go eat someone else! but now i really need to stop! basic training never covered stopping unfortunately, and its not like i can just press brake or hold back on no joystick! I engage my built in stopping mechanism by falling to the ground.

Now, im sure you all did that when you were younger and know its a bad move. I am now learned. Falling over does not instantly take your velocity to zero, you still have your friends momentum and inertia to chill out with… and so i did as i skidded down the snow, tumbling away. One leg decided that since it had a ski attached, it was more than likely born to be a helicopter and attempted to spin its way to freedom. It was forgetting that i still had a knee attached, though tried to remedy this by ripping it apart.

A few tumbles later and i was free of both skis, having left them in my path of ruin.

So yeah, skiing isnt really my thing… the next day my knee was megahertzing and sometimes decided it didnt want to hold my body up no more, instead choosing to let me stumble around stupidly.

Japan - Day 23: Travelling to Narnia

Yeah… this was another day of just sitting on the train, and then a bus, and then a smaller bus… 

Instead ill tell you about the best breakfast food ever! McGriddles!

okokok, you cant really see it, but the bread…. is actually PANCAKES! and there is maple syrup in it!! Oh man its so good, and it has like 80% of my sodium and cholesterol requirements for the day, so it is HEALTHY!!!

Getting to the snow also marks the last day of my JR Pass which i havent really talked about. It is basically immunity from paying for most of the trains, buses and ferries in japan! It is expensive to get, but actually paying the fares (if you are doing even a few trips to different cities) is much more.

It looks pretty nice too!

Ok, now since ive actually completed all of snow world, i can tell you now that i will be squishing it up into like 2 posts since there arent many photos!

Japan - Day 22: Hinamizawa

So today sean and i went to shirakawa-go, which was the visual inspiration for the town hinamizawa, the setting for higurashi no naku koro ni (lit trans: Mind fuck express)

Ok, so this was my first time touching snow, eating snow, slipping over on snow, freezing my hands on snow etc. I am happy with snow.
